Ramona Milano (born 9 November 1969) is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her role as Francesca Vecchio in Due South and more recently Audra Torres in Degrassi: The Next Generation. She has also appeared in numerous commercials, such as for Rogers and The Co-operators.

Personal life

Milano was born in Nobleton, in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada, to her parents Paul and Elsa (née Adriano) Meleca.[1] Milano graduated from the Etobicoke School of the Arts in 1987.[1]

Milano married Fabio D'Agostino on 25 June 1994 with whom she has a son called Mitchell D'Agostino who was born in May 1998.[1]

Milano has been teaching drama, including six years at the Rumball Music Studios and a spell at the Pope John II School in Bolton, Ontario.[2] Since 2006 she has been running Suburban Vortex Productions in Bolton which includes an on-camera facility, coaching adults and teenagers as well as helping the teenagers to experience the world of acting.[2]

Awards

Milano was nominated twice for Gemini Awards, in 1997 and 1999, although neither were won. Both nominations were for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series" for her role as Francesa Vecchio in Due South.[5]
